Hello, I never heard it called that "shot gun" approach before. Thanks for the chuckle...Donna
I am related to Elmore Blackwell (my maternal gt grandfather) via his 2nd marriage to Rowena Mitchell. Wise Co TX The names Pierce, Houser, Beauchamp are in my database. It sounds as though we have a connection. Martha Tanner
Hello to both of you, I have Minnie and Thomas in my database but only information is the birth of their child....no idea who either belong to.....I collect all Hollis lines, started at a time when I didn't know much about my line and took the "shotgun" approach, figured if I wrote them all down I would eventually find it.....smile... John, would love to have some information on Thomas to add to my database.... do either of you have any further children information on them? I don't have information on the Hollis family but Thomas Huff who married Minnie Hollis is a member of my wife's family. This bunch of Huff's came to Wise Co. from Marion Co., IL. They intermarried with the Hays family for several generations. Would be happy to exchange information with you. I tried to connect to the Wise county website and I wasn't able to get thru. Please send me the correct url for your web site. Charles Dunton 654 Dunton Drive Cleveland, Ga 30528 Thank you for your help with my geneealogy from the wise county area several years ago. I found info on Silvesta and Horace Robinson. Silvesta was my father's aunt. They are my only descendants that moved to Wise County near the turn of the century. (1900) Their daughters moved from Wise County when they married. This a wonderful site and I don't know if I thanked you for the info on the cemetery and the pictures of the headstones that you sent to me. I guess it is never to late to thank someone for a service that has been given to you. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Kudos for David! Splendid job! This is by far the best list I have subscribed to in the US. Thank you all! Mary Bain Wendland
I have used the Dallas County divorce records for the late 1930s and mid 1940s. Records are in the district clerk's office, but they do not have the entire files. All they have, or so I have been told, is the final decree. On both that I ordered, it was a one page document.
