    3. Hello Sandra, Would you be refering to Milton Benjamin Stanfield ((1841-1897)? The Elizabeth I have is Sarah Emma Elizabeth Stanfield (1867-1892), who married W.S. Woodward and is buried at the Aurora cemetery. Maybe John Gordon Stanfield was one of their children--I'd love to find out who the Stanfield children were--all i know about are Robert Wilshier Stanfield's children and descendants. -Joanne ----- Original Message ----- From: <NtSsperry@netscape.net> To: <TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 06, 2004 8:15 AM Subject: Re: [TXWISE-L] Early Wise Co. > Noted you said you knew the Stanfields. Also, you might contact the post adoption unit of the state, and they can tell you for certain. Was she ever actually adopted, or just placed in service (which Gladney did to a lot children)? He had a whole bunch of kids, and I descended from Wilson T Fields. I haven't used this website before. I would appreciate any type of input on either him or possibly some old pictures of the area during this time. Thanks! Gene Fields Arkadelphia, AR gjrafie@cox-internet.com

    3. My Great-grandfather, Samuel Martin West, was a rural mail carrier around Bridgeport from around 1907-1834. At first he delivered the mail with his horse and buggy. Later in a Model-T. In the winter time different people on Papa West's route would heat flat rocks on their hearth and put them in his buggy for him to warm his feet. They would carry in the cold rock that was in the buggy and put it by the hearth for another day. These rocks went all over Wise County. What a wonderful story of community!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ione R. 3. Dear Billy, You seem to be a fountain of information! This is way before your time, but my grandmother (Ruby Stanfield) taught school in or around Chico--started in 1906. Do you happen to remember any people with the last names Stanfield, Gardner, or Ramsdale? I know Robert Stanfield (my great-grandfather) moved away in 1910, but there were a lot of other Stanfields around there that stayed in the area. Sarah Emma Stanfield married W.S. Woodward and had children who might have been parents of some of your friends. Or not. But thought i'd ask! Thanks for all the help you've given me and others!! -Joanne ----- Original Message ----- From: "Billy G Albritton" <bil.dot-alb1404@juno.com> To: <TXWISE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 04, 2004 12:01 PM Subject: Re: [TXWISE-L] Early Wise Co. >I went to school with your grandmother, I remember the Caraways. > I know Boy Kid, and his brother Jim, my brother Ted budded with them > some. > > Some of the people that I budded with was Bobby Starnes, Billy King, > (Willie Taylor he is still alive) > Jack McNiel, Willis McClary, and a bunch more, I can't remember all their > name.
