    3. Faye, After reading your query this am, I went to the library (where we have the Texas death index) and I tried to find Mary Melissa Coffman. Here is what I found, but I'm not sure that any of these are her. Coffman, M, M, Lamar County, d. Dec.-30-1942 #55317 Coffman, Mary, Knox County, d, Mar-10-1931, #14292 Coffman, Mary, Travis County, d. Nov 26, 1961, #67521 I looked at all the years from 1903 thru 1960 and those were the only possibilities. The state archives in Austin have all these data in books that are really easy to use. They also have birth, marriage, and divorce in the book form. I used microfilm. 3. Christine, A little more information would be helpful. Smith's are very difficult to work. For example there are 119 Georgia Smith's living in Texas in 1930 and 1,255 James Smith's living in Texas in 1930. Moreover, my search engine doesn't allow me to find the intersection of these two sets. I do not find a Dede Smith living in Texas in 1930. Examples of useful information: What is DeDe's complete given name? Where was the family living in 1930? Where did DeDe grow up, was it in Texas? Where were James Monroe Smith and Georgia Canon Smith born? When were James and Georgia born? Where and when did any of these people die (Robert, James or Georgia)? I realize that De De may not know any answers to these questions, but if she knows just one or two answers it will be a big help. I've looked in the Birth's book for Wise County and the Cemetery Records for Wise County and didn't find any of these people listed. Dave Pitts Houston TX Hello! 2. Dear Listers, Just had to tell everyone how great the seminar was at the Wise County Historical Museum last week end. Ronald Womack is truly talented at pulling this all together and covering a lot of ground in our few hours. AND it was great fun. Met some folks we had only know via the internet....and they are all just as nice face-to-face. I heard he may offer another seminar in a few weeks, so be sure and watch for the announcement. It is certainly well worth your time. Best regards to all and special thanks to Ronald and Carla Womack!! La Darla Listowner

    2. Pam McMurray
    3. I am researching the Murray family who migrated to Texas from Missouri between 1873 and 1878. I found them in Clay Co, in the 1880 census. Between 1880 and 1900 they moved to Wise Co. I am a descendant of Jefferson Benjamin Murray and his wife Nancy Ellen Razor, married in Wise Co in 1892 and who moved to Oklahoma after 1900. JB Murray was the son of Henry Thomas Murray and his wife Delilah E.(I am not sure of her maiden name, but it might be Hall) They were the parents of seven children, I believe that all the children were girls, except for JB Murray. I believe that I have found three daughters of six daughters who married in Wise Co. as follows: Annie G Murray married Granville Stepp, they had one daughter who died as an infant and Annie died during the same period of time. H. Ethel Murray married Noah Copeland and she died without issue in 1920. Cora B Murray married Sam I Sturges, they had one son and he died as a child. The resided in Tarrent Co, for the rest of their lives. They however are buried in Wise Co. I am missing daughters LA Murray and JO Murray who I lose between 1880 and 1900. Zillia or Zillian Murray is enumerated with her parents in 1900. My direct ancestor, Delbert Otis Murray, son of JB and NE Razor, married Josie Putman daughter of George Washington Putman and Mary Jane Cole also from the North Texas area. Any information or insights would be appreciated. I think that HT Murray may have had a brother with which he left Missouri?
