Hi Pat, I saw your request on the txwise list. I am related to the Sensibaughs of Wise County and I have done a fair amount of research concerning them. I would be very happy to share what I have with you. Shirley Drake Jamestown, CA
I can't see if Pat is subscribed to the list or not... Just to comment that I have an on/off project (on my own) to keep track of those marriages that happened prior to 1880 in Wise county. Most of those will come from private family records, or inferred from other sources. I hope to pass that list on for the web site. They would be clearly shown as from other sources. Just haven't been able to work on them recently.
We have some marriage records, but I don't know if any are that old? See page http://www.rootsweb.com/~txwise/marrgs.htm Also look at the old birth records on page http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~drycreek/BC-R-S.htm You may want to get on the Wise County Genealogy email list on page http://www.rootsweb.com/~txwise/wise2.htm Maybe someone who knows about the Sensibaugh family will respond. I'll send this email to the list. I know your offer is to send copies of death records, etc., but I was wondering if you know of anyone else researching this family? On the death certificate you sent for William Andrew Sensibaugh it says his father was James Houston Sensibaugh (which is what I have), but it says that his mother was Ellen Piner (spelling). According to other researchers his mother was Nancy Elizabeth Hunt. James Houston Sensibaugh and Nancy Elizabeth Hunt were supposed to have been married 20 August 1866 in Decatur, Wise, Texas. Is there anyone who has access to these marriage records that I could contact? Thanks for any help you may give me! Pat Linton Eugene, Oregon Get your own web address. Have a HUGE year through Yahoo! I am trying to prove the George O'Dell who was married 1) Maggie Jackson and 2) Ruby Pace was the son of James O'Dell and Martha Ann Loney. According to census records, George was born circa 1880 in Texas but the s/o James and Martha was born in Kansas on June 1874 so I cannot determine if I've been following the correct George and there was bad information on later censuses. I understand there was another George O'Dell in Grayson County born in Michigan in 1866 and died in 1910 in Grayson County who was the s/o Daniel J. O'Dell and Jemimia [Mimi] Clarke. The George O'Dell I'm researching also had a sister, Mary Frances who married Andrew Wesley Gibson. Their parents, James [1834-1892] and Martha [1845-1922], are buried in Preston Cemetery. George's first wife, Maggie [1889-1913], is also buried in Preston Cemetery. According to Grayson Cemetery Index, George and his second wife, Ruby, are buried in Fairview Cemetery - no dates on index. I found Ruby's death of 21 Jan 1978 on Ancestry's Texas Deaths but cannot find George's death. Is there a cemetery publication that might have their births and deaths? If so, does someone have access who could look up George's information? George and Ruby had a son, Enoch J. O'Dell - 25 Dec 1918 - 08 Jul 1999, who is buried in the Odell Cemetery. He was married to Dorris Fay Holt and to my knowledge had one daughter - Charlotte Ellen O'Dell, b 05 Apr 1948 ,twho married a Gerald Gray Moon on 06 Jul 1968 in Grayson County. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Shirley Houk [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) Wooster, OH ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

Hi Cherri Would you have a photo of Lee Harms and family? Lee was my neighbor in Paradise and I have some fine memories of Mr. Harms. He would sometime ask me or my brothers or sister to go with him to ring the church bell in the old church in Paradise. I would like to seeyou get all of your photos on the wise county site. Have you contacted LaDarla? I can give you her email address in hopes that she will add your photos. Email me off message board at [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) . Wendy, my daughter is the head photo of a Walgreen's in Ft. Worth. You can upload your photos to an online photo album at Walgreens.com and keep them there and then if you decide you want to send them to someone, you place your order and give the address of the name of the Walgreen's where you want them sent, anywhere in the US. You can pay for them online with a credit card, or the person you are sending them to can pay for them when they pick them up. I have done this several times. It really works good and they are usually ready real fast! They will also send you an e mail notice when they are ready to be picked up. Be sure and consider what happens if you are not at home when your house burns. If that happens you have lost all files that are stored at home . I put all my files on an external hard drive and keep it in my safety deposit box. I update it regularly. It just means you have to make a trip to the bank now and then. I actually use two hard drives and rotate them just incase one of the drives malfunctions. The hard drives have gotten so inexpensive that you cannot afford not the buy one or two. This is good information. I am glad that people are making these kinds of efforts to keep their important genealogical information in tact. A lot of things that we have are irreplaceable and we should take extreme measures to ensure that if they are lost we have copies of them. I keep all my personal family documents (birth certificates, social security cards, etc) in a lock box at the house that I got from Walmart. It is durable and for around $20.00 it holds a lot of documents. It is fire proof to a very high temperature and can handle drops from high places. I encourage all of you to look into these boxes. The ones at Walmart have ratings on them that tell you how hot a temperature they can withstand and for how long they can remain there. They also tell you how indestructible they are. They are cheaper than you would think. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sally Viada Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2007 9:20 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TXWISE] FYI--from another list Neatstuffgifts, Amazing how much you can learn from experience.
