This is not the record you were looking for, as this lady died in Taylor, not Bartlett. The record I was thinking of was published in Vol. 19, No. 1 of The Chisholm Trail (Williamson Co. Gen. Soc.'s quarterly). It was a death record recorded in Taylor for: Nellie HUFFMAN, occupation: "old slave"; in the place of father, her "owner" was listed: F. GIDDENS; she was a widow, died 25 Sep 1913 in Taylor; date and place of birth given as: 04 Jul 1797 in Westmoreland Co. VA; her age: 116y 2m 21d. Place of burial was Giddings, TX. I looked for an obit or newpaper article in both the Taylor Daily Press and the Williamson County Sun, and did not find anything in either paper. Linda Emry
