Sorry, I don't like to put it all into one. The Joseph Harris Shafer family arrived in Williamson Co., TX in 1877 by train. They came from Chautauqua Co., New York, settling near Hutto. Joseph Harris Shafer was born 16 Apr. 1836 in Portland, Chautauqua Co., NY and Died March 2, 1905 in Austin. Buried in the old Round Rock Cemetery. Boy are you in luck. Joseph's parents were: Joseph N. and Lucinda E. (Mallory) Shafer. Joseph's paternal grandfather was George Shafer, an American Revolution veteran& served with George Washington at Yorktown in 1781 (British Surrender). -----Original Message----- From: Cynthia Williams [mailto:cwilliams6@austin.rr.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2000 12:39 PM To: TXWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TXWILLIA] Shafer Looking for info on my Shafer line.
