Additional information on Mattie LeSueur, born 1860. She lived with her Nowlin relatives and her siblings, when their parents died. I don't know if she married, but will check my other records. She died about 1888, in Austin, TX. Linda On Sun, 2 Jul 2000 21:34:04 -0500 Robert C Palmer <chris.palmer@juno.com> writes: > You have been great help. You have been great help. Family records of mine have listed Charles' first wife as Eliza Garden (not Gordon) thank you for the correction. My great-great-grandmother was his second wife, and their eldest (his 2nd) child was my great-grandmother, Mary Lauderdale LeSueur, born July 19, 1961, married Dr. Samuel George Harper, Oct. 19, 1885. She died Sept 23, 1957 and is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery (I think) in Georgetown, TX. You have given me a great deal of information, and corrected some errors. Thank you so much. I guess you could say we were related "one marriage removed". Bye for now, Linda On Sun, 02 Jul 2000 14:25:52 -0700 Ric <fdg@flash.net> writes: > Hope this helps. I know, and I sure do need to get to that one. I think I have a couple of Gordons and possibly a Lane and Charles Marion LeSueur. The last two married a couple of my cousins here in Williamson County, Texas Linda Pierce Forsyth wrote: > > Drat--the 2nd url wouldn't come up either... > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Ric <fdg@flash.net> > To: <TXWILLIA-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, July 02, 2000 8:51 PM > Subject: Re: [TXWILLIA] Texas 4th Infantry, Company "B" > > > OOPS........ > > this one is it. > > > > http://jhufos.pha.jhu.edu/~dag/4thtex/tgr.html > >

Hi Linda, Just got back last week from a 2 day trek to Anderson County and all points in between there and Williamson County. We found very little. Did find one land deed that shows Moore Stevens sold property in about 1872 (74?). So, we decided to check all counties from there. Went to Milam, Henderson, Leon and one other whose name escapes me right now. Well, he certainly made himself scarce. Notice in the Probate records, on line, for Wm. Cty. that there is a probate for an Annie T. Mann, died 1901. Did you see that one when you were at the courthouse. We didn't know about it before we were there, and ran out of time. This week I went to Illinois, for one of my cousins funerals. Sick as it is, I couldn't stop myself from looking for some stuff on my moms line. German records and Lutheran churches are so wonderful. I found lots of info from cemetary records, marriage, and baptism records. And, found two wills to make it even better. All in a matter of 3 hours. Wish my dads side was as easy. Take care. Whoops, forgot to tell you. At Taylor Library, they had phone books for 1910 and 1915 (could be 15 & 20) all my notes are at the office. In one of the books, it listed a Oscar Harber with wife Willie (could Willie be Eleanor and marry Oscar before or after Roy? Or, maybe Willie was Willie and did have a sister Eleanor... Sure would be nice if they cooperated a bit. Pat ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! Is anyone out there able to get to the roster of the Texas 4th Infantry, Company "B". It keeps timing out for me. Perhaps someone out there already has a roster and could do a look up for me. Please excuse the multi-lists but I'm trying to get to as many folks as possible. Fred Gordon Williamson Co., Texas

Hi who ever - Maybe I'm losing my cotton picking mind but I tried your URL http://www.alltheweb.com . I got a page but I didn't see a thing about genealogy. OH well! Tom J.
For those of you not aware of "All The Web, All The Time" -- I think it is one of the better search engins, because of the "exact phrase" option. Just type in exactly what you are looking for, without worrying about quote marks, and/or, and that sort of thing. Even better is the advanced search feature, which allows including or excluding words or phrases, even a feature to filter out domain names, which helps reduce the number of hits. Sometimes you have to play around with the "exact phrase". In the case of "Texas 4th Infantry, Company B", I got one link, which would not connect. "Texas 4th" produced 100,000+ hits. Then I started used various combinations of abbreviations, 'til I found one that worked (tx 4th co b). the URL is: http://www.alltheweb.com Linda E.
Hope this helps. Seems we were almost related. Descendants of Charles Marion LeSueur Generation No. 1 1. She was born November 08, 1830 in Tennessee, and died January 11, 1855 in Williamson Co., Texas. He married (2) ANNIE ELIZABETH NOWLIN April 06, 1858 in Austin, Travis Co., Texas. She was born February 14, 1834 in Saline County, Missouri, and died October 25, 1921 in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. Notes for CHARLES MARION LESUEUR: He was said to have grown up in Marshall Co., Mississippi and was a captain in Company "D" in the 4th Texas Calvary. It's also said that he was promoted to Major on April 14, 1863 or 1865 and paroled at San Gabriel, Texas on July 23, 1865.
