Census records say he was born in 1825 in Missouri. Somehow he got to Texas. No idea how. But in March, 1850 he married Lavica DYCHES, daughter of William C. DYCHES. They lived in Williamson, but when Bell Co., was formed they were living in Bell Co., just passed the Williamson Co. line. That is where my great-grandmother, Nancy Ann Bingham was born in 1866. The family moved to Milam Co. in the 1870s. James S. Bingham died in 1882 in Milam Co. and is buried there. Anyone with additional information, please contact me. Jackie Morgan
Someone asked the other day where Stacy Labaj is (sorry, don't remember who). I never knew her, but I do know that she helped some of my Allison kin with their genealogy some years ago. I have been told that she is deceased, but I cannot confirm that. I think your best bet would be to email, write or call the Wmson Co. Gen Soc and inquire about her. From what I hear, she was a wonderful person. Linda ALLISON - REVEALE (all variations) - YOUNG and many allied families 1847 to date
I am trying to find out what happened to the children of William BEARD, son of William Carver BEARD and Amanda BOATRIGHT, daughter of Levi BOATRIGHT. William and Amanda were married in Williamson Co., Texas on Jan 4, 1869. They had at least 4 children: Josephine BEARD, b. Dec. 1869 in Williamson Co., Texas. Alberta BEARD, b. 1871 probably in Williamson Co., Texas Stonewall Jackson BEARD, b. 1876 possibly in Williamson Co., Texas Mabel BEARD, b. 1878, possibly in Williamson Co., Texas. Their father, William, died before the 1880 census. Amanda was living with her brother-in-law, John B. REES in DeWitt Co. on the 1880 census. Amanda was listed as a widow. I don't know anything about what happened to Amanda or her children. It was believed that some of them may have moved to Oklahoma. Actually, I don't know exactly WHAT HAPPENED to William. He was not listed with Amanda and it is believed that he was one of the unmarked graves in the BEARD Cemetery in Granger, Williamson Co., Texas. Does ANYONE recognize these names? There were stories that the Beard-Boatright children went to Oklahoma. Would love to hear from you. Jackie Morgan in San Antonio
By chance, does any one know of Stacy Labaj? She had copied the Allison-Friendship Cemetery and I had hoped to ask her a couple of questions. Thanks Jackie Morgan
I am sending this to you since it could possibly involve a member of the same YOUNG family that eventually wound up in Williamson Co. (Other Laurens Countians who also wound up in Wmson Co. were the ALLISONs and POOLs, who arrived by 1847. I think the YOUNGs arrived a little later.) (Oh, woe--no telling how many, many genealogically important items have been sold at auctions, garage sales, etc.) Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Selph/Kathy Duncan" <ppskdd2@airmail.net> To: <SCLAUREN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 13, 2000 8:44 PM Subject: [SCLAUREN] Young, John estate record > This inventory from the estate of John Young (Laurens Co.,SC), > made on 15 Mar 1826, is currently auctioning on ebay. > > Auction ends on 15 Aug 2000 at 19:35 PDT. > > http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=404839845 > > Kathy Duncan >
I wanted to let the list know of the upcoming Snow & Storey/Story family reunion to be held Saturday September 16, 2000 at Pfluger Park in Pflugerville, TX. The cost is $10 per person which includes a catered BBQ lunch, dessert, tea, coffee, sodas, and ice cream. This price also includes rental of the main park with a gazebo, concrete table and benches with lots of shade. The park also has hike/bike trails, a park swimming pool, and basketball and volleyball courts. Deadline for RSVP and the money is September 1. Our Storey/Story ancestors ( John, William, and Sarah) are brothers and sister are believed to be from Giles co, TN. About 1840 they moved to Lauderdale county Alabama and finally migrated to Milam county in central Texas about 1855. Our Snow ancestor is Charles A.W. Snow, born 1825 in Georgia and died 1910 in Williamson county TX, having arrived there about 1876. All new "cuzzins" are welcome and encouraged to attend and please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you, Glenn Rutz 401 Ulster Drive Tyler, TX 75703
