William M CAPLE and William S TONEY were made special deputy constables by a Wichita County constable for a raid on a gambling house in the oil fields at Kemp on 30 Sept 1930.Someone shot out the lights and when the smoke cleared both men were dead. CAPLE is on the national memorial (Panle 24, West 23) and state memorial ((36,D,18). TONEY is on the national memorial (Panel 39, West 23) and state memorial (30, B,07). Both men are buried in the Riveside Cemetery in Wichita County.
