I know you can order microfilm from the National Archives that provides more exact locations of the post offices. But, from the list online, the last postmaster given, J. Lacy, I was able to find him on the 1900 census. He was living in Precinct 1. Precinct 1 would have been the part of the county surrounding Wichita Falls, but not including the city. So, I didn't think it would be Iowa Park. Then we got lucky. I remembered having a map that I scanned a long time ago. A local historian put it together with historical points of interest. And there it was, Bismark Post Office. Based on that map, it would would have been between Wichita Falls and Iowa Park, on what we call Old Iowa Park Rd. I think the official designatin is Business 287. On the older map, you can see that Bismark is on the railroad track. That track is still used, and runs along Business 287. Here is a link to a section of that map (I highlighted Bismark): http://www.rootsweb.com/~txwichit/maps/bismark.jpg For a current day view, use the link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=N+33+56.310,+w+98+34.880&ll=33.938732,-98.581352&spn=0.03183,0.086517 (or go to Google maps and just enter N 33 56.310, W 98 34.880) It seems to me that Bismark is in the are we call Pleasant Valley today. Finally, I thumbed through Kelly's Wichita County Beginnings and found this on pg. 166: "BISMARK: A small settlement between Wichita Falls and Ioa Park near the Carl Williamson farm. Over 400 people lived there at one time. Some say it was a development scheme of the early 1890's There were two general stores and a grain elevator." Kelly, Louise, compiler. Wichita County Beginnings. Burnet, TX: Eakin Press, 1982. Hope this helps. Norm Lewis
