    1. Killian in Holliday
    2. Holliday is in Archer County not Wichita. If this is the Killian I am thinking about, they only had one son. I have no idea where he is now. My Dad lived in Holliday when he died. The Killian's lived near us in the country before moving to town. This is the only Killian I know of in the area. I believe they are buried in Holliday Cemetery. Wanda

    3. Hi Debbie, I didn't find Laura or David in the TX Death Records. You said David Tobe YARBROUGH had a son on 4/4/1905. The TX Birth Records has: YARBROUGH, D.T. infant of, born in Red River County on 4/7/1905, file #126261. Could that be John B. YARBROUGH? His birth certificate should name his parents. 1. Descendents of Bert C. King
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: King, Holder Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RAC.2ACI/1586 Message Board Post: I am looking for descendents of Bert C. King. He was an attorney in Wichita Falls. His father was Samuel M. King. Samuel had a sister named Harriett Jane King ("Jane"). Jane was married to Robert D. "Tack" Holder. They lived in Somervell Co and Erath Co. Tack Holder and Jane King had the following children: Emmet Mary Elizabeth William Earl We have tracked down descendents of Mary Elizabeth Holder but we have been unable to find out what happened to Emmet Holder and William Earl Holder We were hoping that their King cousins might have some insight. We were specifically asking about Bert C. King as we know that Tack had contact with Bert up until Tack's death in 1933. But any help would be appreciated. There were other connections between the Holder and the Kings. Jane King had a niece, Elizabeth C. Johnston, who was briefly part of the Holder family. She was the first wife of Park Frazier Holder (a brother of Tack Holder). She died of an unspecified illness. Jane had a cousin named Hannah Louvenia King. Hannah married Marcus DeLafayette Burton. Their daughter Harriett Dorinda Burton was the first wife of Andrew Jackson Holder (another brother of Tack Holder). She died in childbirth. Any help would be appreciated.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RAC.2ACI/1585.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Donna, I checked the list of Wichita County Post offices, and found that Bismark Post Office was in operation from about 1892 to 1899. I know you can order microfilm from the National Archives that provides more exact locations of the post offices. But, from the list online, the last postmaster given, J. Lacy, I was able to find him on the 1900 census. He was living in Precinct 1. Precinct 1 would have been the part of the county surrounding Wichita Falls, but not including the city. So, I didn't think it would be Iowa Park. Then we got lucky. I remembered having a map that I scanned a long time ago. A local historian put it together with historical points of interest. And there it was, Bismark Post Office. Based on that map, it would would have been between Wichita Falls and Iowa Park, on what we call Old Iowa Park Rd. I think the official designatin is Business 287. On the older map, you can see that Bismark is on the railroad track. That track is still used, and runs along Business 287. Here is a link to a section of that map (I highlighted Bismark): http://www.rootsweb.com/~txwichit/maps/bismark.jpg For a current day view, use the link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=N+33+56.310,+w+98+34.880&ll=33.938732,-98.581352&spn=0.03183,0.086517 (or go to Google maps and just enter N 33 56.310, W 98 34.880) It seems to me that Bismark is in the are we call Pleasant Valley today. Finally, I thumbed through Kelly's Wichita County Beginnings and found this on pg. 166: "BISMARK: A small settlement between Wichita Falls and Ioa Park near the Carl Williamson farm. Over 400 people lived there at one time. Some say it was a development scheme of the early 1890's There were two general stores and a grain elevator." Kelly, Louise, compiler. Wichita County Beginnings. Burnet, TX: Eakin Press, 1982. Hope this helps. Norm Lewis
