My wife's father was 30 years older than her mother. He had a previous marriage according to legend. I found him, James Marion Allen, in the 1920 census in Wichita County as a Deputy Sheriff. He had a wife, Mabel E. and a nephew Joseph who was only 9 months old. He married my mother in law in 1930 in Enid, Ok. Her maiden name was Ruth L. Disosway. Graduated from Whichita Falls high school in 1927. We were told his first family died from a diptheria epidemic in the 20's. This is all that I know. Thank you Pat Carroll

There is a Mrs. Mable W. Allen who died July 13, 1941. She is buried in a plot with several other Allens, Cary C. Martha Lee and Martha M. all buried in the Riverside Cemetery. According to the TX Death Records there is no Mabel Allen that died in the state of TX in 1920. There is a Gail Allen buried at Riverside who died Nov. 6, 1920 but that is the only Allen Death in Wichita Co. in 1920. Now at Rosemont Cemetery there is a Mabel Allen who died Jan. 21, 1946. If you can come up with some more info, I will be glad to search again.

A day and month of death will be needed. Although I do volunteer to go to the library to do lookups, becauseI work full time, I can't sit all day at the microfilm machine and search through every day of every month of every year. This leaves 2 cemeteries in the county. One is the Burburnett Cemetery and the other is the Crestview Cemetery. The City of Burkburnett's # is 940 569-2263 and they can do a lookup for you Crestview Cemetery 940 767-1770 and they also have their own list. Hope this helps! Julie

Surnames: Henderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RAC.2ACI/1629 Message Board Post: The 1930 Wichita census shows Julius E(dgar) Henderson age 30, widow, in home of his brother, Oscar. Also in home was their mother, Ella, age 68. Need date of death and burial location of Julius Edgar Henderson. Family thinks he died about 1957 but not sure. Could someone check death/cemetery records for Wichita County and let me know if he is in records. Not sure he died there but know he was in the 1930 Wichita census. Died somewhere in Texas and assume it might be Wichita County. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Winifred Merier-Gourley

Per their marriage record, Hazel was born in TX and we think Davis is her maiden name. John once worked as a cook in Burkburnett, TX, that is where we think he met Hazel. Hazel born about 1908. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
