    1. [TXWASHIN] Arabella Gray Deaver Harrington 1768-1860

    3. Hi, I am curious if anyone knows where Arabella Gray Harrington is buried. I have done a lot of research on her, due to the fact she was initially married to Nathaniel Deaver in NC before he died in IL in 1811. She later married John William Harrington, who died before they made it to Washington County in 1826. She had children from both marriages. There's an interesting article about her in the Handbook of Texas Online: http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/view/HH/fhafv.html This weekend, I will be passing near Brenham on my way to Houston and would really like to get a photo of her grave. She died April 12, 1860 in Brenham. Someone told me once she was buried in Matchett Cemetery in Brenham, but I don't see any evidence of a cemetery by that name on your website or the USGS Locator. Any information before this weekend would be appreciated. Thanks! Joe D. Deaver TXBELL Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbell http://ancestry.deaver.com ancestry@deaver.com

    3. Regarding Arabella Harrington's grave, I have been told by another Deaver researcher that it is in fact in Matchett Cemetery. While the directions weren't very specific, she said it is on a farm road going west from Brenham. It's on the north side of the road, across a little bridge and up a small incline. Apparently, it's a small fenced plot which might be overgrown and near some cows. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks Joe D. Deaver ancestry@deaver.com

    3. Arabella is buried in the Walker Cemetery which is "on top of a hill near the old road between Chappell Hill and Brenham" according to a book entitled Cemetery Records of Washington County Texas 1826-1960 by Judy and Nath Winfield, Jr. On page 40 of the book is the following information: HARRINGTON, Arabella, d. April 12, 1860, Age 92 yrs. Also listed on page 40 are the following: [DEVER], Francis Arabella, Dau. of Wm. & Catherine Dever, d. April 17, 1864, Age 14 yrs. 11 mos. DEVER, William, b. December 25, 1804, d. January 18, 1871. on page 39: DEVER, Catherine, b. May 26, 1811, d. June 2, 1868. When this cemetery was recorded there were only 8 graves in the cemetery and the book states that the cemetery is tended by the cemetery tract owner. The owner is not recorded in the book, but I'm sure someone in the Chappell Hill area will know where it is. Good Luck! -Karen -----Original Message----- From: Joe D.
