I would appreciate if someone could help me in my search for the identity of an Israel Rout who married Susie Anderson on August 10, 1887 in Washington Co. I have a copy of their marriage license and I also have a copy of the marriage license of Mrs Susie Rout to Henry Clay on March 19, 1898. From that information is would appear that Israel had died between 1887 and 1898. I believe Israel Rout is one of three brothers who went 'west' in the mid 1800's. Israel and one of his brothers, Westley, landed in Ohio, married and had families. However Israel's wife died in 1882 in Ohio and he disappeared until I found a reference to an Israel in the Washington Co. TX marriage licenses. (How many Israel Routs could there be?) Are the death/obituary records for the years 1887-1898 indexed anywhere? If so how could I access them? I am hoping the death certificate would provide more information than the marriage licenses. If anyone would be willing to look the death up and make a copy, I would be willing to reimburse for time and materials. Please contact me privately if anyone is interested.
