I would like to see a Republic of Tx. mailing list go into effect. I need some help. I have copies of two 1st class headright grants in my gg grandmother's name. I understand that these grants were not awarded to females unless the female was widowed. Her surname was "Wright" when she married my gg grandfather, John Wilson McKisick, in 1839 in Washington County. I am trying to find out who her first husband was. Her maiden name was Sarah McGary.
