Family History Center November 1999 Memorandum __________________________________________ We would like to make you aware that Pedigree Resource File compact discs, including a master index disc, are available from Church distribution centers individually for $5 each or collectively as a set for $15. The set includes the five discs plus the master index disc. Each Pedigree Resource File disc contains about 1.2 million names. FamilySearch® Internet Genealogy Service is receiving submissions of over 1 million names each month (currently, over 40% of the records being submitted are from outside the United States, Canada, and the British Isles). As new submissions are received, additional compact discs will be published accordingly. Each set of five discs will include a cumulative master index. Sometime in the first quarter 2000 a searchable index to the Pedigree Resource File database will be available on-line at www.familysearch.org. Current plans are to update the on-line index at least monthly. Unlike compact disc version, the on-line index will not contain a submitter's individual Pedigree Resource File discs referenced by the master index.
