This little snippet of info might help you check your machines for the Y2K thing, and reassure anyone with doubts about their machines. Sent me by a list friend, our thanks to Betty Bireley. bj Dear Billye, I don't know if you have received this message before. I seem to remember you printing out something on Y2K. The beauty of this is...even I can understand it. It applies to Windows 95 and Windows 98. TEST Double click on "My computer." Double click on "Control Panel." Double click on "Regional Settings" icon. Click on the "Date" tab at the top of the page. Where it says, "Short Date Sample", look and see if it shows a "two digit" year (yy). That's is the date setting that will not roll over to 2000. It will roll over to 00. Click on the button or arrow across from "Short Date Style" and select the option that shows "mm/dd/yyyy. Be sure your selection has four Y's showing, not two. Then click on "Apply" and then click on "OK" at the bottom. You're fixed. This took me about three minutes. Remember, I'm slow. Maybe this will help someone.
