We have compiled the first comprehensive work on the history of Victoria County Families. Victoria County has a marvelous history, from the landing of Rene-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle on the outer most edge of Victoria County to the development of modern technology in the fields of medicine, banking, chemicals, and education. >From the earliest citizens of Victoria County to the present, "The History and Heritage of Victoria County" gives interesting stories in the words of family members. Descendants of those early settlers and those residents who are recent arrivals have contributed marvelous stores and pictures about their life in Victoria County. The earliest families have been brought into the 21st century with descendants who were eager to share their histories. Victoria has been called "a well-kept secret". The secret's out and we want the world to know that our history and heritage is both interesting and unique. **************************************************************************** ********************* The History and Heritage of Victoria County features a short history of Victoria County. Do you know about the Street of Ten Friends? We have a story about each one of the ten friends and their connection to Martin DeLeon. Victoria's historic churches and fine homes are pictured and recorded. An in-depth look at Victoria County Schools recalls the earliest, now forgotten one room educational edifices as well as those that have withstood the test of time. Communities in Victoria County are featured with tales of their beginnings and the citizens who made them thrive and grow. Ranching and Farming commentaries have been written by experts on the subject in Victoria County, as well as a glimpse of the Flora and Fauna that is a delight for the nature reader. This is just a sample plus many more topical stories. All of this plus 1,200 family stories will delight the reader. **************************************************************************** ********************* VICTORIA COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY Membership in the Victoria County Genealogical Society is open to anyone interested in perfecting the art of family research.
