Hi Billye, Yes, that is a tough exam...for what WE consider to be the eighth grade. However, when my grandfather, who was born in 1894, was graduated from high school there were only 9 grades, and he was not 14. Children went to school until they were finished, or quit. School was not mandatory for 12 years. They had to take time off for planting, harvesting, etc. So eighth grade was much the same as what we call high school. Besides, I knew a heck of a lot more when I was a teenager than I do now! grace
