Hello Everyone, I am forwarding a message I received regarding books that the Goliad Co. Historical Society has for sale. These are great books, I have them both. If you have any questions, please contact me or Mrs. Freer as noted at the end of the message. Thank you, Dorathy Luedecke Hardie Assistant County Coordinator, Goliad County, TX adhardie@sprynet.com While on a trip recently to Goliad and Corpus Christi, I had the opportunity to visit the Goliad Co Historical Society Musuem, just off the square in Goliad, Tex. I discovered that they have a number of books for sale, including "The History and Heritage of Goliad County(a reprint of the original) and the Cemetery Census Book. Although they are currently updating this book, it will be a while before the book is ready. While in Goliad I had the opportunity to visit with Mrs Doris Freer, the president of the Historical Society. She indicated that the Society had substantial funds tied up in the two books and would like to sell their supply. Could the Goliad Gen Web Page help out by advertising the availability of these books. They aree both valuable resource items for any genealogists during research in Goliad Co. -History and Heritage of Goliad Co. $40.00 each plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. Make checks payable to Goliad Co. Historical Commission. -Cemetery Census of Goliad Co. $15.00 each plus $3.00 for shipping and handling. Make checks as above. Booklet lists 43 cemeteries and is indexed. Originally published in 1988. Mrs Freers address is Goliad County Historical Assn. Box 8, Goliad, Tx. 77963. Unfortunately she does not have a computer. The telephone number at the Museum is 361 645 8767 and the Museum is open Wednesday and Saturday. Mrs Freer's home number is 361 645 3825 Regards, Walter Dreier -------------------------------- End of TXVICTOR-D Digest V00 Issue #69 ************************************** From root@lists6.rootsweb.com Tue Aug 1 19:19:31 2000 Return-Path: <root@lists6.rootsweb.com> Received: from lists6.rootsweb.com (lists6.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.125]) by listsearches.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) with ESMTP id e722JVw25861 for <indexer@listsearches.rootsweb.com>; Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:19:31 -0700 Received: (from root@localhost) by lists6.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id e722JWt16985 for indexer@listsearches.rootsweb.com; Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:19:32 -0700 Date: Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:19:32 -0700 Message-Id: <200008020219.e722JWt16985@lists6.rootsweb.com> From: TXVICTOR-D-request@rootsweb.com Subject: TXVICTOR-D Digest V00 #69 X-Loop: TXVICTOR-D@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <TXVICTOR-D@rootsweb.com> archive/volume00/69 Precedence: list MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/digest; boundary="----------------------------" To: TXVICTOR-D@rootsweb.com Reply-To: TXVICTOR-L@rootsweb.com ------------------------------ Content-Type: text/plain TXVICTOR-D Digest Volume 00 : Issue 69 Today's Topics: #1 Goliad Co., TX.
