Posted on: Victoria Co. Tx Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Victoria?read=18 Surname: Clarkson ------------------------- The 1850 federal census lists an A.W. Clarkson in Victoria county..location: Victoria. I have been searching my paternal grandfather, Alexander Wilson (A.W.)Clarkson fruitlessly for several years. The 1880 federal census for Macon county (Decatur), Illinois indicates that he was born in N.C. and mentions a "Gibaratta" or "Gilerato". Other than that most of the vital records are non existent. I am hoping that someone in Victoria may have something that will help me inch forward. Their first born was named Thomas which may mean that A.W.'s father had that given names. The Wilson could be the maiden surname of A.W.'s mother. I hope that this will ring a little bell with someone there. Thanks in advance Jim Clarkson jacl@ismi.net Brighton, Michigan -------------------------------- End of TXVICTOR-D Digest V00 Issue #72 ************************************** From root@lists6.rootsweb.com Tue Aug 1 19:19:35 2000 Return-Path: <root@lists6.rootsweb.com> Received: from lists6.rootsweb.com (lists6.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.125]) by listsearches.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) with ESMTP id e722JYw25975 for <indexer@listsearches.rootsweb.com>; Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:19:34 -0700 Received: (from root@localhost) by lists6.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id e722JZp17004 for indexer@listsearches.rootsweb.com; Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:19:35 -0700 Date: Tue, 1 Aug 2000 19:19:35 -0700 Message-Id: <200008020219.e722JZp17004@lists6.rootsweb.com> From: TXVICTOR-D-request@rootsweb.com Subject: TXVICTOR-D Digest V00 #72 X-Loop: TXVICTOR-D@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <TXVICTOR-D@rootsweb.com> archive/volume00/72 Precedence: list MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/digest; boundary="----------------------------" To: TXVICTOR-D@rootsweb.com Reply-To: TXVICTOR-L@rootsweb.com ------------------------------ Content-Type: text/plain TXVICTOR-D Digest Volume 00 : Issue 72 Today's Topics: #1 Alexander Wilson Clarkson [jim clarkson <jacl@ismi.net>] Administrivia: To unsubscribe from TXVICTOR-D, send a message to TXVICTOR-D-request@rootsweb.com that contains in the body of the message the command unsubscribe and no other text.
