Hello, Victoria County List Members -- I am searching for information about and/or descendents of CARL and VICTORIA AUGUSTA STEINER. Carl STEINER was in Victoria by 1851 as deed records indicate he purchased land on the Coleto Creek in December of that year and established Steiner's Settlement (now Coletoville). His family followed from Upper Silesia (Oberschlesien) in December 1852, accompanied by several other families who settled in the present-day Coletoville community (KOBITZ, KORNFUHRER, WOLFF and VOGT, among others). Carl and Victoria Augusta STEINER had three daughters: 1. Anna Maria STEINER who married Henry C. GRAMANN and lived near Spring Creek 2. Whilhelmina (Minna or Minnie) STEINER who married Friederich SCHOB and lived on the STEINER homestead in Coletoville. 3. Anna Augusta STEINER who married Adolph GOLDMANN and lived in Victoria. I am a descendent of Minna and Fred SCHOB through their eldest daughter, ALVINA and JOHN BERGER, who married in 1897 and lived directly across the Coleto Creek in Goliad County (where the Coleto Creek Reservoir is now). My parents are EDNA EMELIA BERGER and JASPER JULIUS YOUNG, both desceased. I would be happy to hear from anyone having connections to the STEINER, SCHOB, GRAMANN or GOLDMANN families as well as anyone with connections to early settlers in the Coletoville or Raisin areas. Thanks much, Jayne Alvena Young Manuel
