    3. Grace, I hesitate to respond to your request for info on Robert Henry Hill, I will probably "muddy" the waters" even more. From Vol. 1, #1 of our local gen. soc. quarterly I found the following: Republic of Texas, Jackson Co. TX., Marriage Records, Clerk of the Court, L.S. Menefee....Groom, Benjamin White, Bride, Sarah Royster, 21 May 1840. Performed ceremony, Robert H. White, Minister of M.E. Church. THEN, I find in Vol. 1 #4 of our quarterly...Victoria Co. Marriage Records, transcribed Marriage Bk, 1, 1838-1870...Robert C. Hill to Agnes S. Menefee issued 13 June 1840. Vol. 4, #1 has a short history of the First United Methodist Church here in Victoria and it states that the church was formed in 1840 with Rev. P. Sneed as paster. No mention is made of your Hill as pastor in the Victoria church. Grace A. Gleason wrote: > > Dorothy, > > Thanks so much for the correct name, Norma Rutledge Grammer.
