Hello to all on the list! First off let me say thanks to Barbara for her FANTASTIC WORK on the Tyler County Home page andd for getting this list started. We just completed a three week genealogy course at the Whitmeyer Library here in Woodville and for those who were not able to make it you misses a lot of good information. The course which was supposed to be a basic genealogy course ended up being more than that. Francis Pennington taught the class and gave us loads of information on where to find information, how to double check for errors and so much more. During the class today we discussed the possibility of starting the Tyler County Genealogical Society. Not to take away from the East Texas Society but to help add to it. Our gaol would be to increase the information available about Tyler County, Texas. We are just in the absolute beginning stages of talking about this but I would like to know if anyone else out ther would be interested in either joining or helping get this off the ground.
