Tyler County Rooters, We may be new, we may be still small, but already we're acting like a little family, helping one another. I've been doing family research 23 years and there's one thing you learn with this "hobby". We are all "newbie's" because there is always something we don't know, didn't think about, some source we don't even know exists. Thanks to Janey for thinking about a work-around for the lost census period and thanks to all of you that have already sent in your introductions. Through those introductions I have already found a couple of "cousins". In Tyler Co., you're most likely either kin, or at least kin to someone who's kin. One source that comes to mind for all Tyler County Researchers is the Whitmire Library in the Heritage Village at Woodville. Because Tyler County doesn't have a genealogical society (yet) a lot of people don't realize how much information is really available. I spoke to Carol Phillips, who is in charge of the Library tonight and we are going to work toward a listing of what is available, maybe even a Heritage Village Page. I'll keep you posted.
