Hi Melody, This is a little funny. Thanks for the information, I had just looked up the article myself! I live on the outskirts of Houston and receive the chronicle so I accessed the archives via internet and took a look at the article! But, I want to thank you tremendously for your effort, that was really nice of you. I think, it may have given me a lead though, I'm going to look in Natitoches, LA and see if maybe my HOLLAND family traveled the same route as the Sturrocks. Ya know, this might be something I should share with the list. Because I am a subscriber I can do look-ups for others. Thanks, Michelle Holland ----- Original Message ----- From: "Melody Anderson" <mjahca@swbell.net> To: <TXTYLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 8:42 PM Subject: Re: [TXTYLER-L] Irish settlers > hello, looking in on your talk, and was interested in "IRISH" settlers up in this corner of the world (EAST TEXAS)....called a friend who was a Chronicle subscriber, and she looking in the archives, and found the article, about Rockland and the cemetery there. However, the family that is referred to were the Sturrock's, and they were originally from Scotland. If you want a copy of the article, I can send it to you. After reading it, I realized that I had probably read it when it originally was in the Chronicle, we were subscribers back then. It is an interesting article. I'm interested in any Irish O'Connor's/O'Conner's, or just Conner's up in this part of the country. Thanks.
