    3. Hello Michelle, I looked up your ancestor "HOLLAND" in the cemetery book that I have for Tyler county, and there was not one that matched that name or date......some around the same time, quite a few Hollands, but not that one. It's possible he's in an adjoining county, like Jasper, or Hardin, or even north of us....if they were in the Rockland area, it's possible they were in Angelina county.......worth a looksee.

    3. Hi Melody! Seems we have exchanged emails before because I recognize your name. I think it was awhile back. I knew he wasn't in the cemetery book, so I've often hoped that he may be buried in a "lost" cemetery somewhere that didn't make it to the book. Then again, I'm almost resolved that he was buried on private property and the grave has been lost. I know he had property in Angelina county in 1860- and may still have owned it when he died, but it was city property, and they resided in Tyler county when he died, his probate record said he died "at home" but not how. So I figured he would have been buried in Tyler county. I really need to look again. As far as I can tell, his property was West of Colmesneil between Colmesneil and what now is the dam, some ways out, and he had a lot of acreage. Do you know if the county line had changed there since then? It might be that he was buried in Angelina! Thanks bunches!
