I still have not found the birthplace or parents of my gg-grandfather William T. (W.T.) Holland. So I guess it is time to post it again. I am searching for any information on William T. HOLLAND born GEORGIA?, county unknown. I know he was married to a Susan A.(Unknown) and that they resided in TYLER COUNTY, Texas from about 1861 to 1866 where he died and a probate record is found in Tyler County. He owned 320 acres in Tyler County referred to as Millner's headright. At his death many people owed him money included names such as: ARRANT, CHANCY, ODELL, STEELE, SIMS, WILLIAMS, MIDDLEBROOKS, SNELL, MASSENGILL, DOUGHORTY, CHUMBLY, DR. C. MCCULLUGH, JOHNSON, ALLISON, BORDERS, NEWMAN, TAYLOR, RIGSBY. Looks like he had a lot of dealings with one JAMES W. MASSENGILL. I haven't found him on any census record, but his widow and children on the 1870 Tyler County census: Susan (widow), (children:)Council O., Benjamin, Mary, Mitchel Gilbert, and William T. jr (along with another mystery child named Rufus whom could not have been his) Susan A. UNKNOWN remarries in Tyler County in 1880 to a JW DAVIS. William T. may have first married a Mary BLACKWELL, but this may be a rumor. I have also combed Tyler County and have not found his grave or that of Benjamin or Mary who may have died prior to 1880. Any information would be helpful. Thank you, Michelle Holland Porter, Texas Researching: HOLLAND, LAYTON, BURNMAN, THOMASSON, TERRY, PERKINS, BEARD, ROBERTS and many more....
