City development, even if that's just electrical wires. Signs that indicate that someone wanted the land enough to remove the headstones of a cemetery. Wish I had better directions. I have found all this talk of a "missing cemetery" very interesting. My gg-grandfather, William T. (WT) Holland b. ca 1830 GA. died in Tyler county in 1866, and I've been unable to locate his grave. Maybe he was buried in this missing cemetery??? He lived East of Colmesneil. Please keep us updated. By the way, who did the gravestone belong to??? Anyone know? This discussion calls to mind my experience last spring when my brother and I traveled from Austin to Tyler County to look for my great-grandfather's grave. We discovered that the graveyard in Doucette was now private property and all that was left was a piece of one headstone leaning against a fence that surrounds a water boiler. Does anyone have additional information on this cemetery? Is anyone familiar with the process to establish a marker displayed where the gravesites once were?
