Holland, b ca. 1830-33? Georgia d. 1866 Tyler County, Texas. I have tried many times to connect my William T. to the Charles Sherwood Holland family to no avail. I have heard a rumor in my family that my William T.'s son, Council O., said that his mother's name was Mary Black"well", and now think that maybe the name "they" heard was actually Mary Black"mon"? There are two William Holland's living in Tyler County in the 1860's, mine who married a Susan A. "unknown", who knows if that was his first wife, and one who married a Nancy Sumrall. My William's property (William MILLNERS headright) edged the Neches River, whereas the other William's (purchased from Darley DURIN) bordered RS Holland's land (I've often heard that these two were brothers)...which drew me to the conclusion that there was no connection between these two William's, but now I am not really sure. My William and family are NOT on the 1860 census, in fact he doesn't show up until ca. 1864. then his widow and children are on the 1870 Tyler county census. His widow remarried a JW DAVIS in 1880. I believe I saw that the Sumrall's also came from Georgia, and I wonder if maybe the two William's were not cousins of some sort? If anyone has any information, anything at all, I am really open to any ideas! Michelle Holland
