I've seen numerous references to this couple, but I don't think it's the same William Green. However, I just discovered on the 1870 census that he had a previous marriage to the one with my great-grandmother. I will check this out further. At any rate, I don't think any of my Durhams came through Alabama - I think they went from NC to Tennessee, then to Texas. Thanks for responding! I'll keep in touch if I find a connection. A number of Durhams came to east Texas from Chambers county Alabama (family moved from NC around 1823)in about 1855. My greatgrandfather James Clinton Durham b1814, had a brother William Lindsey Durham born 1819. I find a William Green Durham, but born 22 Nov 1827, died 17 May 1901 married to Eliza (Louisa) York 3 June 1852. > > > ==== TXTYLER Mailing List ==== > HELP ROOTSWEB GROW > http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html > >
