    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: TINES TYNES MAGEE AVERY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VlB.2ACE/984.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks Catherine. From what I've been told, the Trinity County Beginnings book says that Susie TINES's parents were Mary Melissia MAGEE and her first husband, "A TINES". I don't know whether this means A is his initial, or he was just "a TYNES" whose first name is unknown. There is an R. H. TYNES on the 1860 census for Trinity County, age 26, born in Alabama. He appears again in Company E of the 7th Cavalry during the Civil War, and may have died in the war, as I see no more record of him anywhere. If he was Mary Melissia's husband, it would make sense, since she remarried shortly after the war to Rufus AVERY. Unfortunately for that theory, Susie, on the 1880 census, said her father was born in Louisiana, not Alabama. (Maybe she just didn't know.)
