This Community was formed around 1917. Many Czech immigrants from Czechoslovakia and Cedar Rapids, Iowa came to live in this area. The Czech People attempted to start businesses in this area but the businesses failed. The families had church in the local home of the Tomek's. There were 2 schools in the area, Sylvester School # 1 and # 2. The Czechs built a Bohemian Cemetery, which still have approximately 6 people buried there. The Cemetery is located on the Old Tomek Place. Some of the families living in Bohemian Community were Vondra, Janak, Zmolek, Zmolik, Tomek, Jurek, Vostatek, Kopeck, Pukastik, Cepak, Pecha, Pekarek, Kadlecek. More Czech names around this area would be Slechta, Cinek, Dolezal, Lukastik, Krejci. The Community diminished around 1930 when most of the families moved on to seek different jobs, and more money.
