You were one of the first ones to help me when I started my genealogy searches a few years ago. Green Brock is my gg grandfather, but through Miranda McWilliams (not Peebles). Have you discovered anything further on Green's father (James)? Also, do you have any information on whether Green served in the Civil War? I have some information that states he did and other information that states he provided a substitute. I have not been able to find any Confederate Records proving his service. I would certainly want to purchase your book when you're finished with it. Please keep me in mind. Just for your information, I have hired someone to keep the BROCK area cleaned in the Milligan Cemetary. Thank you

Surnames: Vondra Janak Steffek Pecha Jurek Svoboda Krenek Krejci Krejni Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VlB.2ACE/923 Message Board Post: Bohemian Community was located 4 miles northeast of Groveton in Trinity County near Sylvester. This Community was formed around 1917. Many Czech immigrants from Czechoslovakia and Cedar Rapids, Iowa came to live in this area. The Czech People attempted to start businesses in this area but the businesses failed. The families had church in the local home of the Tomek's. There were 2 schools in the area, Sylvester School # 1 and # 2. The Czechs built a Bohemian Cemetery, which still have approximately 6 people buried there. The Cemetery is located on the Old Tomek Place. Some of the families living in Bohemian Community were Vondra, Janak, Zmolek, Zmolik, Tomek, Jurek, Vostatek, Kopeck, Pukastik, Cepak, Pecha, Pekarek, Kadlecek. More Czech names around this area would be Slechta, Cinek, Dolezal, Lukastik, Krejci. The Community diminished around 1930 when most of the families moved on to seek different jobs, and more money. The Cemetery is the only trace left of the Bohemian Community. I am looking for any information on these families or this Community. Thanks, Judy Vondra vonward@txucom.net

Stephen Hale 25 bm TN Silva Hale 23 bf AL wife Nilos Williams 12 bm TX sson Lillie Williams 5 mu f TX sdau Nora Williams 3 mu f TX sdau Silva Adams 95 mu f NC other There were about 6 or 7 Hail/Hale families in Houston Co. but nothing that would fit W.F. Hale. Most came from TN if that helps. I can do a nationwide computer search for him if I had something more specific - like year of birth, state of birth, etc. More than likely he was living in the home of his parents in 1880. There were quite a few William Hale all over the state but it was too vague of a search to be productive. Have you checked the 1900 census for him to get a date of birth? Do you have any other siblings names to help search? Catherine
