There were 4 children: Fred M Shields b. 1898 (my father), Bess Shields b. 1901, Minnie Fay Shields b. 1909, and C J Shields, jr b. 1912. Fred was born in Hunt County and I think Bess was as well. Fay and C J, Jr must have been born in Trinity. They all graduated from High School in Trinity. The house there was on a corner right in town. My grandmother was Minnie C (Maynor) Shields. She died about 1942, Grandfather died around 1950 and I think they are both burried at Cedar Grove Cenetery, just a few blocks from where they lived. I remember walking from the house to to Grandmother's grave with Grandfather and my Dad.. that must have been in the summer of 1947, but it might have been 1945. Grandfather was a very active Mason, and I have written to the Lodge in Trinity requesting information that they might have. I would love to be able to comfirn that cemetery location and the exact dates on their headstones. James R Shields Bellingham, WA

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VlB.2ACE/962.1 Message Board Post: According to Trinity Co. Beginnings, the Threadgills were members of the Friendship Community, a community on East Prairie in northwest Trinity County 3 miles east of Pennington and 12 miles northwest of Groveton. In 1890, C.F. and N.C. Threadgill joined the Harmony Baptist Church there. The Glendale Baptist Church in the community of Glendale was organized Jan 15, 1899 and it's first member was W.W. Threadgill. Another charter member was S.M. Threadgill. In 1884, District 2 School 2 was formed with H. Threadgill as a trustee. It was then known as Lane Prairie District, and in recent years Thompson District 17. Other information found indicates Albert Franklin Reese, born 1854, died 1907, and wife, Sarah Alice Threadgill, born 1864, died 1940, owned and operated at 135 acre farm in the Friendship Community east of Pennington. He taught school and was serving as County Commissioner from the Pennington Precinct when the present courthouse in Groveton was built. Hope this helps you a little!

My great-grandfather was GW Foster and his mother was Martha (Parker) Williams (she married twice after her first husband (my great-great grandfather), AW Foster, died. They later showed up in Brazos, Robertson, and Eastland Counties in Texas.

It is very dark, and very hard to make out. It is of a woman, maybe in her early 20's or younger. On the back was written someones name. It is almost invisible, but appears to be Lena Ellis. I know I am related to the Ellis' somewhere down the line either through my LANE'S or STANDLEY'S. This woman is wearing a very elegant dress and hat. Anyone have a Lena Ellis in this area? Just curious as to where she fits in. Thanks, Terri
