I think the mystery has been solved. I have been told that that Cemetery is now called Johnson Cem. It is located where you and Jean said. Although it has not been canvassed lately by TCHC members it is in the two Cemetery books of Trinity County. The listing is under Cemetery listing on the Trin/tx website here at Rootsweb.Hope this helps. Mary TCHC Family Queries Co-ordinator

I have looked for my gggreat grandfather's grave in Trinity Co. with no luck. He was a Turner, but his family came to Trinity Co. from MS with the Tullos family. Just maybe he is buried there.

Go to Apple Springs, turn left at caution light, then stay to left in bend of road. The cemetery is on that FM I think. There are worlds and worlds of Tulloses buried out there. The first Tullos settlers to Trinity County were to that area, then they migrated over toward Trinity.

Birtie was married to Steve Rastius Tullos. They had 8 children together, one of them being Herman Edwin Tullos. Herman's wife told me the story of how her husband actually dug the grave himself for his mom. She says she has been to this cemetary before, but that was over 20 years ago. Me as 2 other researchers(Peggy and Angela) are trying to uncover as much detail about the Simons as we can. We have located them in the census records but are stopped there. When my wife's grandmother told me about the cemetary I thought it might unlock some questions. Steve R. Tullos is buried in Rosewood Cemetary in Humble, TX.

You have myself and my friends at the TC Hist. Comm. astounded. I checked with Ruth Tullos (Mrs. Sam) .They have the Trinity Funeral Home. She has never heard of a Tullos Cem. Sam's descendants are buried at Thornton Cem. in Glendale. Your map puts the Cem. you seek out of Centralia.which is over by Apple Springs.I am not real familiar with that area as I am on the other side of TC. but I have friends who are familiar with the area. I have sent out "feelers" to them. Perhaps this is one of the "lost cem." in our county we are not aware of but certainly want to include on our trin/tx website here at Rootsweb and in our next Cemetery Book. The name you mentioned is not in either of our Cemetery Books. Do you know who her husband was? Or where he is buried? That might help. Good Luck on your search. mary

I've been given unsubstantiated information that Julia Wetzel(Whitsel) married a Fielding Low in either Liberty or Montgomery County, TX in the late 1860's. Julia apparently died at childbirth of twins Paralee and John Low born October 25, 1867 in Liberty County. Their grandmother Melvina Whitsel (Wetzel) Beeks took the twins to Washington County, AR before the 1870 census.
