My 4th great grandfather was William Moore PATTERSON (abt 1827-1882). He married 1st Marie ---, who died between 1870-1880, and had 6 children. On the 1880 census for Trinity County, his new wife was Artemeca, age 35. Also in William's home was his widowed mother-in-law, Artemeca WILSON, age 63. Just today I wrote off for copies of the probate records mentioning "Artemissia (Mrs. Wm.) PATTERSON, heir". That is in Book A. In Book C and Book D there are records pertaining to the estate of Artemissa WILSON. I did not send for those. I can't find my copy of the census right now, but I have the notation of where the family was. I will be glad to share any info I receive and I would love to hear what you find about these people who were important to my family. P.S. Just coincidentally, in reading your posts about this family I noticed you have a grandparent buried in Houston at Brookside. My grandmother is also buried there (she is a gg granddaughter of this William M. PATTERSON); it is a lovely place.
