The only Brownlee found in TC Cemeteries is a Tom Brownlee buried in Glenwood Cemetery(Groveton).Born Feb. 22,1882 D. April 30,1959. Tom Brownlee is mentioned in the 1920 and 1930 TC Census as born in Tx. Both are listed in the 1870 and 1880 census records for Trinity County. They are also listed in the 1900 and 1910 census records for Houston County. Their children are Lula (my grandmother), Nancy, Mittie, Arie, Mary, Cynthe, Callie, Willis, Dave, and Robert. Yes, there is an Indian connection. I don't know about Nick, but Missouri's mother Betsy BASS (who lived with Nick and Missouri in 1900), was supposed to be a full bloodied Indian (some say Cherokee, but I'm not sure). Nick, Missouri, and Betsy have on the census records that their home State is Mississippi. I will send you the census data I have, by email, if you wish. I certainly would like to know more about the TULLOS/TILLIS and BASS families if you or anyone has any data. Jay Jay
