Primarily looking for any old photos of our District Courtroom before it was remodeled in the 1960's or any interior photos of the courthouse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Their children were: Balton, Venton, Justin, Hightower, Nolia, and Florence Morilla MCMANNERS. I have recorded Abraham as the son of Dawson McMANNERS and Harriett COVAN. I was expecting to find a family in Trinity County, since they called Pennington home, and are buried in Pennington Cemetery. But a search on their name in Trinity turned up nothing. When I enlarged the search to all of Texas, the family is listed in Houston County, Precinct 4 (ED84). My family is enumerated as living on the "Lovelady and Pennington Road." Now my case was 1920 and yours was 1900, but I think they may be instances of the same thing. Look at a map of Trinity County. The Pennington to Lovelady road runs roughly parallel to the line between Trinity and Houston counties. I suspect the enumerators (or even the residents) weren't certain which county they were in. Being northwest of the road is not the same as being in Houston County. So perhaps your Holmes relatives were in Trinity but will be found in the Houston census. Now, what precinct in Houston, 1900? Can't help you with that one, but look at ancestry's list of EDs or precincts. Their descriptions may help--or ask someone on the Houston County board. Wayne Shell Home is Thibodaux, LA But Roots are in Groveton

I am researching my husband's paternal ancestors. His great grandmother was Jennie Robinson. She was the 2nd wife of David Perry Inglis. They married in Huntsville, Walker Co. Texas on Aug. 11, 1895. They lived in Riverside, Texas which is across the river from Trinity, TX. They had 3 daughters, Cora, Nora, and Florence. She died sometime before Jan 1907 (when D.P. married a 3rd wife). She is supposed to be buried next to David Perry Inglis in the cemetery behind the Baptist Church in Riverside. There is no marker for her. When Cora was a young, she did not get along with her step-mother. She went to live with John and Mollie Hall. She called them John and Mollie (her kids called them Uncle John & Aunt Mollie). We have not been able to find out anything about her or her family. I am hoping you are my missing connection! I read this query and it suddenly all came together....why Cora would live with the Halls. We have never been able to understand why she would live with people who were not relatives. I guess she didn't!

Some of you I may have been in contact before, and some not. I am trying to put together all the decendants of Francis Martin of Mississippi that I can. The Mangum families of Bass girls are from that line (as well as Wyatt Henry that came to TX later). I would love to share what I have gather and fill in the blanks (and correct whatever I need to) of these lines. The Abraham Magee and Jonathan Bangam Magee family is also connected through the Bass family! A couple of blanks include: William Albert Mangum, son of Alfred and Permelia (Bass) Mangum, did he die before 1900 and leave a son Albert? Albert is living with his grandmother Permilia in 1900 and 1910. Solomon B Mangum, son of Alfred and Permelia (Bass) Mangum, can't find him at all! Seeing that Permilia had lost three children before 1900, I figure either William Albert or him. (The two other may be the Nancy C and Eliza I have also listed). Grover Cleveland Mangum, son of Alfred and Permelia (Bass) Mangum, was he in Dallas County in 1910? What happened to him? The rest of those children I have found marriages for but may have lost down the road. The only one of Wiley P Mangum and Nancy Matilda Bass I can not seem to find is Nancy A Mangum. I have marriages for the rest (except for Pleasant who was insane?) and will continue to work on those lines also. Having a lot of trouble with the Jonathan Bangam Magee and Margarite Bass family. Some trouble with Abraham Green Magee and Mary Lou Tishue Bass family (unable to find much on Callie Magee and Francia?/Fronia? Bass) Did Abraham Green Magee, Jr marry? Looking forward to hearing from you.

If you live in Texas and your local library participates in the program offered by TXShare (Texas State Library) you can do census searches online for most of the years of census. All you need is a library card from your local library and their ID and Password, they will supply and give you instructions. The cenus is provided by Proquest (Heritage Quest) for libraries across the nation. The beauty of this online census is the ability to search all censuses anywhere mulitple ways. Full name, just surname, State and County specific or not. Our Trinity County website also has a link to the Rootsweb censuses. Good luck. (PS My cousin is a Holmes, father originally from AR)
