Can't find him on the 1870, 1880 Census. Who were his parents? Did he have sibs? Found a white Dr. Alsey Clements in Bibb and Tuscaloosa Counties AL. on various Census' prior to the Civil War. He owned slaves. Since mother of Alcy was shown to have been born in AL (see 1910 Census abstract above) and that he was mistakenly listed as a white man by a census taker (see 1920 Census abstract above) that this Dr. might possible be related - possible even the father. Can't find a definite connection though.
