Also, there is a Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Austin,TX and you might be related to them. Austin,TX is the capitqal of Texas and the county seat of Travis County. Have you tried posting your inquiry on the Travis County, TX message board? Also, have you tried looking up your Walden relative in the Social Security death Index? If you need an Austin,TX obituary, I can probably get you one since i do reserach in the Austin history center. If you need a death certificate number, I could probably get you that too --that is until they start the renovations to the genealogy part of the State library here. What do you have on these Waldens? There is an off-chance that we might have a Walden obituary on the www.rootsweb.com Obituaries message boards that might be one of your relatives. Just having a last name helps but it isn't enough to work with for now. A whole name and date and place of birth and generally anything and everything you have about this relative gives me something to work with! The best thing in the world, UNLESS YOUR RELATIVE DIED IN CA is to look them up in the Social Security Death Index and then write to all of the funeral services in the place where she or he died and ask them. Because you will need to have a "right to know" it helps if you give them as much information as you can regarding dates and places of birth, death and your relation to the deceased. Closer relations get a priority but most funeral service people I have dealt with like to do family history research too so they have all been very helpful to me as a rule EXCEPT FOR CALIFORNIA AND INDIANA!
