    2. Beverly, I'm going to toss out some suggestions, although none may be new ideas to you. Have you tried the Austin History Center? I'm not sure where O'Henry was in prison and you didn't state the years. Was he in Austin for five years? I don't think so. You should be able to find a record of his arrest at the History Center though as the jail logs are archived there. I doubt the Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin would have anything, but are you aware that they have almost all the early directories of Austin. O'Henry would have been listed with his location for every year. The State Archives should have the information about where the state prison is. You should be able to contact them by e-mail. I have done alot of research on families that lived in Austin during the same time that O'Henry lived there. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me. Rondina P.     3. O'Henry worked in the General Land Office with my Great,great grandfather, E.A. Hausmann. There is a lot of information at the old G.L.O. building on the capitol grounds.
