If you have ancestors buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Saturday, June 18 from 9 am to 2 pm volunteers will be the cemetery office to assist people in locating their family plots. Maps and other records will be available. We will also be scanning pictures of family buried in the cemetery for the Austin History Center files and updating family contact information so that there is a name for each plot in case of emergencies such as the recent vandalism. Some instruction on stone cleaning will also be given. Austin Genealogical Society, Save Austin's Cemeteries and the Austin History Center are sponsoring this open house.
