I did not realize how common a name Ida Walker was until I checked the death records of Texas. I have keyed in on one Ida Walker who may well be the one I am looking for. She died January 18, 1945 in Travis County. The Ida Walker I am looking for had been a Patient? Inmate? at Texas State Hospital for the Insane at Austin. Writing the state of Texas has been a practice in futility as for as finding out anything about this lady once she was committed to its care(March 22, 1944). She was born October 20, 1885 in Rapides Parish, La and married John Rodrigo there. They had a daughter born in 1925. The daughter is still alive but declines my efforts to find out anything about her mother. Incidentally, Ida Walker is my aunt - older sister to my mother. That makes the daughter my first cousin. Is there a possibility there is an obit for her? Would some Kind Soul check on this for me so that I can be sure the Ida Walker who died in 1945 is indeed my aunt before I send for her death certificate? Since I am not close kin (nieces don't qualify) I will have to send in a copy of my driver's license along with my $20.00 when requesting her death certificate. I would really appreciate any help or suggestions any of you have to offer. Floreda
