Amy Bulger died in Travis County on March 24, 1947. You should be able to get more information about her from the Texas Dept. of Health by ordering her death certificate. The DC# is 14281. If you learn she died in the State Hospital, you can perhaps get her records from them. A brief obit appeared in both the Austin Statesman and the American on March 25, 1947. It reads: Miss Amy Bulger, 70, died in a local hospital early Monday. The body was sent to San Angelo Monday by the Weed-Corley Funeral Home for burial. You could probably also get some information from the funeral home. I'm pretty sure they have records going back that far. The phone number for Weed-Corley-Fish is (512) 452-8811. I have a Henrietta WALDEN who married a Thomas CLIFTON, and after Thomsas' death Henrietta married a John BRADEN. Henrietta and John Braden ended up in Barry (I think) County Missouri. Priscilla CLIFTON married William HAMBY. They were married in Benton Co., AR. and moved to Travis Co., TX in about 1870 after the census was taken. Pricilla's daughter in her diary just said that her grandmother was a WALDEN and from "england". Do any of these names look familiar? I recently learned that I can order census images on CD. The 1910 Travis County census is listed as available; however, EDs 66-83, 136, 137 are shown in parenthesis. I assume this means that these are the only enumeration districts available. Does anyone know what areas of Travis County this would cover? I'm primarily interested in the Austin and Manor areas.
