Where is Ennis County? I just found the 1930 census for Bert Hays - I printed the page and it clearly says Ennis County. The town is Ennis City. I googled and could not find Ennis County but I did find Ennis City and it is in Ellis County. I am thinking perhaps that was strictly an error by the census taker - It is in Enumeration District 16. Any thoughts? He was buried in the family plot at the City Cemetery. This cemetery is currently known as Oakwood Cemetery. Many Thanks to Ralph Elder at UT for this information.
The online Handbook of Texas indicates that Joseph Baldwin died on January 13, 1899, but it doesn't indicate his burial place. From information found on the website, he may have chosen to be buried in Huntsville or perhaps in his home state of Pennsylvania. Have you tried searching for him on the USGenWeb site for Texas and also for Pennsylvania? If he rests in a cemetery that has been transcribed, you may find him. You might also try the Baldwin message board and list at Rootsweb. Good luck. R.A. She was married to a man whose last name was Moore. They had a daughter named Dorothy Moore. I believe Mr. Moore was killed in Austin. Martha then married his friend William Woods. This all happened during the time of WW1. William Woods and his friend Mr. Moore were veterans. I was told that Mr. Moore had asked his buddy William Woods to take care of his wife Martha if anything should happen to him. Unfortunately I dont know what Mr. Moore's first name was. I know this sounds vague, but maybe this will ring a bell with someone. I will be most apreciative of any help. Thank you Ron Woods
