    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CAC.2ACI/626.1.1 Message Board Post: Michael, Thank you very much for responding to my post. Albert Nichols served as a jailor for the Travis Co. Sheriff's Department in the latter 1800's. This is perhaps where the interest in law enforcement began. You have provided me with a good many leads to run down and I am most appreciative. My desire is to find at least one descendant from this family line who is interested in family research. With your leads I am certainly one step closer. Thanks again. Best Regards, Danny Nichols

    1. Willis (or Willie) Owen Holman, b. 8 Oct 1884 in Texas
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Holman, Richey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CAC.2ACI/682 Message Board Post: I am looking for the parents of Willis (or Willie) Owen Holman, b. 8 Oct. 1884 in Texas. When he registered for the draft in World War I on 12 Sept. 1918 he was living in Travis County, Texas (RFD #4, Austin, Texas) His occupation at that time was farmer and County Commissioner. He listed as his dependent Mrs. O.H. Holman. I assume this was his mother. He is listed on the 1930 census for Austin, Travis County, Texas with wife, Annie (Annie Maude Richey) and son, Richey, age 6. As far as I know, they had no other children. Annie was a daughter of the prominent educator Robert James Richey. Willis' occupation in 1930 was Real Estate Salesman. His address in 1930 was 571 (or 511) San Gabriel in Austin. The value of his home was $10,000 and he owned a radio. According to the 1930 census, Willis and both of his parents were born in Texas. This Willis Holman was white. The only other Willis Holman born in 1884 that I have been able to find on census records was black.

    2. It depends on what counties and what information you are searching for. Some is available at the Texas State Library, but they are the primary repository of only regional counties. Please contact me directly, and I will see what I can assist you with. Kay

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Corwin, Nichols, White Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CAC.2ACI/626.1 Message Board Post: I am researching the Corwin family for a friend. Samuel Corwin and Sarah E. Nichols had four children, Dennis (b. 1864; d. 1876), Walter, Albert W., and Joseph. Albert was clearly named for his uncle. Dennis and Joseph are Corwin names. Joseph m. Della White ca. 1898. They had one son, Joseph (or Orville) b. 1899. Albert married Lucille ?. They had a son named Dennis. All of them seemed to start out in law enforcement. Joseph was a deputy sheriff in 1900 and his father-in-law (Robert White) was a sheriff. In 1910, he sold real estate in Bexar County. Albert was a policeman in 1900. I don't know what happened to their children, but this might give you a starting point.

Her parents were Leonhard Kirschvink (b. 6 Nov 1830 in Raeren Germany) and Anna Marie von Hansen (b 28 Dec 1830 in Petergensfeld, Prussia) who immigrated in 1857 to New Braunfels Texas . Mary Katherine has several siblings: Johan Leonard, Moriz or Mauritz, Leonard J, Magdalena, Anna Whilhemina, Katerina Ann, Elizabeth, and Joseph Raymond. Mary Katherine married Jacob Peter Schneider (b. 1852 in New Braunfels, Texas).
