Hello Betty and David, I live in Baytown, Tx. and I just joined this list last week. I think I have seen one e-mail before ya'lls. I don't know if anybody knows of the list. I am very active on the Red River County list which has most of my husband's family. People are always contributing information and helping with lookups on it. Terry County has not been updated since Jan. 1998, and perhaps that is why there is little action on it. I guess Wanda Lovell is still the sponsor. I may look around locally and see what I can find here to help add some information to it and submit it. Well I feel stupid I think the county is up for adoption. If you look at the bottom of the e-mail, it says so. LOL No wonder there is not much action on it. My mother is Patsy Montgomery and my grandmother was Emily Jane Jowers McDaniels. My great grandfather was William Jonathon Jowers who homesteaded what is now North 5th street. Family descendants still live there. I lived there all through my childhood up until my sophomore year in high school. Try to make it back every 4 or 5 years for a visit. David, if you have a death date, maybe contact Kendrick Memorial Library and see if they will look up the obituary for you. Betty, maybe you can inspire some of the Terry County Historical Society into getting involved or maybe sponsoring the site. I know I would like to see it more active. I really enjoyed my childhood growing up there and there are a lot of great people there. Good luck in your searches and I think the Terry County History book sounds great.
