    1. Strickland and Jowers

    3. Hello! It's good to hear from you both. I considered adopting the list, but my hands are full with the Terry County History Book and two elderly Mothers, ages 89+ and 91+. I don't think I can take on any more volunteer work even though I *am* online at least twice per day. James Robert or Robert James Strickland sounds familiar. I'll ask around. I went to school with a Robert Strickland in the 50s. He was a very nice looking young man who had a mischievous personality. Everyone liked him. I don't know about one born in 1915. He would be of my Mother's generation -- she was born in 1910. Yes, I know some Jowers here. One was county commissioner (I think) for a while. I don't think he is still. One of my former, very capable students is Bobbie Jowers. I've had other Jowers in school also, but Bobbie is the most recent. I just retired from a high school librarian's job in June of '98, so I haven't kept up too well since I left school. I'll post a copy of the form that we are circulating so both of you can see it. I will also look around and see what I can find about the Strickland name. There was a Jack Strickland here in the 50s. He and my now husband were friends. We were all in school together. I don't think Robert and Jack were related though. Jack was the grandson of the long-time newspaper owner here. Betty mailto:bhamilt@worldnet.att.net
