Laura Flanagan wrote: Does anybody have any memories or connections to this family? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Response: Yes, Chick Lee's wife, Mary, was my 3rd grade teacher. Also, a niece is my very good friend. Our new Terry County history book, compiled by the Terry County Historical Commission, a non-profit organization, has just been published, and it has some information about Mary's family, the Criswells. We begin distribution here in Brownfield tomorrow (Sunday, 17th). Chick Lee was an impressive artist. I wish he had lived long enough to do many more oil paintings than he did. I *think* maybe the elder Lee's (Chick's parents?) lived next door to us when I was very small. I remember an elderly couple who had one daughter living with them. They used to invite my sister and me over to entertain when they had visitors. I remember that we always sang "Coming in on a Wing and a Prayer" because WWII was going on. I was 8 when it was over.
